Raila Labels Ruto "Mr. 6 Months" as War of Words Escalates

ODM leader, Raila Odinga has hit back at Deputy President William Ruto over claims that he is to blame for the Jubilee government’s failures.

Speaking on Friday, Ruto claimed that Odinga and ODM have been involved in the running of the government for the past three years through the handshake, and cannot distance themselves from its failures.

“You (Raila) came and changed the government’s priorities from the Big Four Agenda to alternative ones like the Building Bridges Initiative. Now, after you have failed miserably, you want to run away,” said Ruto.

“You must bear the consequences for the derailment of Jubilee’s development agenda. You cannot point fingers at others.”

Responding to Ruto on Saturday, Odinga, who described the deputy president as “Mr. Six Months”, reminded him that he has been in the government for eight years and not three years.

He went ahead and criticized Ruto for making promises in 2013 that are yet to be fulfilled.

“Mr. Six months! The youngsters you promised laptops 8 years ago are now old enough to see through your LIES. The youth you promised 8 million jobs in 8 years can see through the WHEELBARROW lie you are now peddling. It has been 8 years Mr. 6 months and not 3yrs,” Raila said through his Twitter account.

Odinga says Ruto pledged to deliver laptops to school children, one million jobs for the youth, and 47 modern stadia in all the counties in six months.
