Kenyan Man Who Impregnated His Mother-in-Law to Undergo Cleansing

A 32-year-old Kenyan man who allegedly confessed to impregnating his mother-in-law is set to undergo cleansing.

Kelvin Waliba from Bungoma County admitted to having an affair with his 43-year-old mother-in-law after she visited to help her daughter take care of their newborn baby.

Waliba’s wife Nekesa says she invited her mother to assist her in taking care of their five-month-old baby as she could not afford to employ a babysitter at the time.

“I am a full-time employee and I don’t have enough money to hire a house help. I, therefore, invited my mother to come over and help as I make plans to get a house help,” Nekesa told K24 Digital.

Waliba, who works as a gardener at a nearby school, often sneaked back into the house to make love with his mother-in-law as his wife was away at work.

When questioned, Waliba’s mother-in-law did not deny having an affair with her son-in-law, saying she gave in to his sexual advances to satisfy her ‘dry spell.’

“I am not married and was struggling with an intense dry spell. I found it hard to reject Kelvin advances,” she said as quoted by K24 Digital.

Village elders are preparing to conduct a cleansing ceremony for the family as the act is considered taboo within their community.
