Drama as Jilted Kenyan Woman Storms Church to Block Estranged Husband's Wedding
Drama unfolded on Sunday after an enraged woman stormed Emmanuel Worship Church in Kakamega to block the wedding of her estranged husband, who is a pastor.
Susan Shikuku, a mother of three, said the wedding ceremony could not continue as the bridegroom, Pastor Dismas Ndula was still her husband as the two were yet to divorce.
“We have two sons and a daughter. I love my husband, but, he has decided to remarry yet we are not divorced. We just separated for a short period. I will not allow my husband to remarry because we have children and must be committed to raising our family,” she said.
The woman said the ‘illegal’ wedding was initially scheduled to take place in Mumias East before it was moved to Kakamega at the last minute to confuse her.
“They had two venues in order to confuse me but I had my informers in both the churches who kept relaying the information as it happened,” said Shikuku.
Reports indicate Pastor Ndula and his new wife identified as Jackata Navile quickly exchanged vows amid the commotion before they were escorted out of the church by police.
Bishop Wilfred Ngoya, who officiated the wedding said, “I was invited here to pray for the couple because the wedding was conducted at Shianda, they didn’t deserve all these.”
