A car belonging to missing Nairobi-based Somali-American businessman Bashir Mahmoud has been found.

Bashir was last seen driving out of Miale entertainment joint in Lavington, Nairobi on May 13th.

The shell of his burnt Range Rover was allegedly discovered in Kibiku area in Ngong’, Kajiado County.

But a day later, officers from Kibiku police station found the car’s shell cleared from the scene by unknown people.

Bashir’s lawyers and family have raised questions about the sudden disappearance of burnt car.

“Some photographs were taken and they have been shared. All of us have seen a motor vehicle that has burnt. One at least remains with a shell and you can at least tell the make,” Alibaya Hassan, one of Bashir’s attorneys said.

His other lawyer Nuru Said said Bashir was scheduled to meet some people on the day he disappeared but the meeting did not take place.

“With Bashir being a US Citizen, we will also be writing to the embassy so that they can intervene,” she said.

Citizen TV reported that Bashir is a contractor handling several government projects in the country.

He has previously been pictured with high-profile government officials including President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.

His family reported his disappearance at Muthangari police station in Nairobi.
