MP Babu Owino Admits to Using Bhang, Cocaine and Heroin

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has confessed to using drugs, which impaired his judgment.

Babu, who spoke during a recent interview on blogger Robert Alai’s YouTube show, said he has used all types of drugs including marijuana, cocaine, and heroin.

“In my life, there is nothing I haven’t consumed, I have consumed soft drugs, moderate drugs, and the hardest of the drugs,” said Babu.

“Bhang is a hard drug coz it can bring insanity when done in excess. I have also done cocaine I have done heroin. I have done a lot of drugs, and every brand of alcohol,” he added.

He mentioned alcohol as the worst of all since it gave him lots of energy that he used wrongly.

Babu, who is facing attempted murder charges over the shooting of DJ Evolve at B Club in Kilimani in January last year, said he has since reformed and is no longer using drugs and alcohol.

“I have been taking alcohol. It’s only that now I don’t consume it because it made me have a lot of energy and I used it in the wrong way,” he said.

“But at least that was in my last life, this is my new life. And I do accept that when you are on those drugs, a lot can happen, you can make some decisions that are impaired. There is nothing that these drugs add to the body; instead, they can destroy all body organs.”
