Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi's Aide Hacked to Death

Police in Bugoma are investigating the gruesome murder of Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi’s aide.

Peter Ochieng, a communications assistant at the MP’s office, was hacked to death by unknown assailants in Kanduyi on Friday night.

The deceased’s mutilated body was found dumped near a popular bar along Sun Rise Road in Kanduyi at around 11:00 pm.

Confirming his death, Bungoma Sub-County Police Commander Benjamin Kiwele said the body of Ochieng had multiple cuts.

On his part, MP Wamunyinyi condemned the killing and called for speedy investigations and arrest of the perpetrators.

“Police must conduct proper investigations. We have leads. The boda boda operator who was to take him [Ochieng] home was paid via money transfer,” said Wamunyinyi.

He added: “It is evident that he died brutally. The police must get to the bottom of the killing.”

His body was taken to Bungoma Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.

Ochieng was also a journalist and a musician popularly known as Storm Dwarchild.
