Bishop David Muriithi Admits Siring Kid with Woman Who Sued Him for Child Support
Bishop David Muriithi of House of Grace has admitted to siring a kid with a woman who sued him for child support.
In documents filed in court, Muriithi accused Judy Mutave of keeping her pregnancy a secret, saying he learned she was expectant long after they ended their short-lived relationship in 2018.
“When I called to say hello…in the process, she casually informed me that she was at St. Mary’s Hospital Lang’ata to deliver a child, which shocked me. I could not have been excited about a pregnancy that I did not know about and which was all along hidden from me,” read the affidavit.
While dismissing reports that he lives a high-end life, the Bishop claimed that the applicant wants to extort and embarrass him.
“From the numerous publications and printing about this case, the sole reason was to sensationalize as well as put pressure on me so I could succumb to her extortion scheme. She does not have the welfare of the minor at heart,” he argued.
Muriithi termed the woman’s demand that he be compelled to take the two-year-old boy to Kiota School as unreasonable, saying he cannot afford fees at the said institution. He argued that he has no regular income and only relies on well-wishers for support of the church as well as his family.
The Bishop added that he shall only be able to provide Sh10,000 per month for the minor’s subsistence besides the school fees.
“I make a commitment herein bearing in mind my limited means and family responsibilities which I am obliged to meet, as well as the fact that the minor’s education will take the largest share of his maintenance,” he added.
Judy is demanding monthly upkeep of Sh100,000 for her son and wants the court to compel Muriithi to pay fees at Kiota School for the boy. She is also seeking Sh1,000 for salon, Sh5,000 for entertainment, Sh3,000 for utilities, Sh2,000 for the boy’s toys, Sh20,000 per month for food and shopping, Sh35,000 for house rent, Sh11,000 for clothing, and Sh10,000 for house help.
