22,000 Acres, Five Helicopters: Matiang'i Lists Some of the Properties Owned by Deputy President William Ruto
Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has listed some of the properties owned by Deputy President William Ruto, including a 22,000-acre estate, five helicopters, a hangar, and private homes.
Appearing before the National Assembly Security Committee on Wednesday, Matiang’i noted that a total of 257 police officers are assigned to Ruto, making him the most protected deputy president since independence.
The 257 officers comprise 85 deployed to offer 24-hour security to the deputy president, 121 officers providing a 24-hour mobile patrol within Ruto’s official and private residences, and 51 securing his various properties.
Matiang’i, who had been summoned by the committee to shed light on the recent changes to the deputy president’s security detail, gave a list of Ruto’s 10 properties that are being guarded by 51 police officers.
They include Kitengela Gas being manned by six officers, four officers at his 395-hectare Murumbi Farm in Transmara, Narok, and six officers at the deputy president’s 6,073- hectare ADC Laikipia Mutara Ranch.
Others are six officers at Ruto’s Dolphine Hotel, Mombasa (3 Hectares); 2,537-acre Mata Farm in Taita Taveta (6 officers); Private Residence in Elgon View, Eldoret (4 officers); Koitalel Poultry Farm, Eldoret (4 officers); Private Residence in Kosachei, Eldoret (4 officers), and five officers at Kwae Island Development Ltd, Wilson Airport comprising 2 hangers and 5 helicopters.
