Autopsy Reveals the Cause of Death of DJ Evolve’s Mother
An autopsy has revealed what caused the death of Mary Hongo - the mother of Felix Orinda, alias DJ Evolve.
The medical examination conducted by chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor showed that the 54-year-old died of swelling and rupture of the heart.
Family spokesperson Kennedy Ochieng told journalists that Hongo died from an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).
"It is the ballooning, swelling, and eventual rupture of the artery that supplies blood from the aorta," Ochieng said.
An AAA can be dangerous if it is not spotted early on and can get bigger over time and could rupture, causing life-threatening bleeding.
Hongo had been taking care of her son DJ Evolve, who has been bedridden for nearly two years following a shooting incident at B-Club in Kilimani, Nairobi in January 2020.
He was allegedly shot in the neck by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who is facing attempted murder charges and is out on Sh5 million cash bail.
Following the shooting incident, DJ Evolve was admitted to Nairobi Hospital for six months and underwent multiple surgeries before he was discharged to recuperate at home.
