Bishop Gifted a Brand New Car by Ruto in September Dies
African Church of the Holy Spirit High Priest Shem Shamalla has passed away after a short illness.
This comes barely a month after the clergyman was gifted a luxury vehicle by Deputy President William Ruto when he attended a service at his church in Kakamega.
Reports indicate that Shamalla did not seek medical attention when he fell ill because the church’s doctrine does not allow members to visit a hospital when they get sick.
The deceased rose to the throne of the church’s leadership in 2014, becoming the fifth High Priest.
His demise was announced by the church’s national secretary bishop Samson Khalwale.
Shamalla will be laid to rest at Tumbeni village in Malava, Kakamega county on Saturday.
Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale eulogized Shamalla as “a friend, a supporter, and well-wisher.”
“You had already made your choice and you had shown your faithful the way,” Khalwale, an ally of Ruto, wrote on Facebook.
