Woman Arrested in Nairobi After Drugging a Man and Robbing Him of Sh1 Million
Police in Nairobi are holding a 30-year-old woman who allegedly drugged and robbed a man of Sh1 million.
The victim and his male friend were enjoying some drinks at a club in Embakasi on Monday night when they met with the suspect Virginia Wangui Thiga and her female friend.
The two men then invited Virginia and her friend to share drinks with them but the ladies were hesitant and appeared not interested.
“However, after some few minutes, they changed their minds, much to the delight of the two men, and joined their table,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said in a report.
At around 4:00 am on Tuesday, the four left the club and went to a nearby guest house where moments later the victim’s friend left, leaving him with the two women.
In details recounted later after regaining consciousness at a Nairobi hospital, the victim told police that he was served chicken by the ladies, who then fled with his mobile phone, ATM, and identity card. The man later realized that Sh1 million was withdrawn from his mobile and bank accounts.
Police managed to trace and arrest Virginia in Nairobi’s Kasarani area and are currently pursuing her accomplice.
Virginia will be arraigned in court to answer to charges of stealing contrary to section 268 as read with section 275 of the penal code.
