Controversial Nairobi Preacher Bishop Godfrey Migwi Passes Away
Popular Nairobi preacher Bishop Godfrey Migwi of House of Hope Church, Kayole has passed away.
Bishop Migwi, who had declared interest in running for the Mathioya parliamentary seat in next year’s general elections under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, reportedly died of high blood pressure on Wednesday.
The vocal clergyman openly discussed politics on and off the pulpit and had expressed support for Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Bishop Migwi was also a fierce critic of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), a brainchild of President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Ruto eulogized the deceased cleric as a bold, vocal, and powerful spiritual leader with a great sense of humor.
“He was a mentor and a friend with firm pastoral faith that he infused to many of us. We will miss his topical and nourishing sermons.”
“Our love and prayers to the family, their loved ones, and the House of Hope Church-Kayole fraternity during this sad time,” Ruto said through Facebook on Thursday.
