President Uhuru Receives a Covid-19 Vaccine Booster Shot

President Kenyatta has received the booster dose of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.

The president received the booster Covid-19 injection alongside Chief Justice Martha Koome and other government officials at State House, Nairobi on Friday.

The brief event was attended by Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr. Rashid Aman and Dr. Willis Akhwale, the Chairman of the National Covid-19 Vaccines Taskforce.

In a statement, State House announced the Ministry of Health will roll out the issuance of Covid-19 booster doses on January 1st.

“The Government will effective tomorrow, 1st January 2022 roll-out the issuance of Covid-19  booster doses to eligible Kenyans who have completed the primary vaccination regime,” the statement reads.

As of December 29th, Kenya had administered a total of 9,849,459 Covid-19 vaccines across the country. Of these, 5,762,977 are partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated are 4,086,482.
