Lilian Nganga Weds Singer Juliani, Months After Break-Up with Governor Alfred Mutua
Rapper Julius Owino, alias Juliani, has tied the knot with former Machakos County First Lady Lilian Ng’ang’a, who broke up with Governor Alfred Mutua in August last year.
Juliani and Lilian got married at a private wedding held on Thursday and attended by close family members and friends, according to reports.
Photos shared on social media on Thursday show the newlyweds and attendees at a garden beside a dam, where the wedding took place.
Lilian and Governor Mutua announced their separation on August 15th after being together for nine years. “Winds of change blew my way and two months ago, I decided to end my long-term relationship with Dr. Alfred Mutua. We had a good run and I am forever grateful to God he brought us together,” Lillian said in a statement.
She resigned from her position as the Machakos County First Lady following the break-up.
Two weeks later, Lillian and Juliani announced they had “chosen to be together.”
In an interview with Nation, Lilian described Governor Mutua as “a control freak”, saying he felt insecure and did not want her to hang out with friends. Lilian, who holds a master's in project management, said her break-up with Mutua was fueled by her decision to take a professional job.
“I would be very busy…I think he felt like he was losing his grip on me and that brought serious fights between us. I don’t want to go into details about the other stuff over the years. People who know him know these things…Those are the main reasons I left Alfred,” she said.
