University Student Charged for Sending Nude Photos of a Woman to Her Husband

A university student was arraigned in a Nairobi court for sending nude photos to the husband of a woman he was having an affair with after taking them during an intimate session with her.

21-year-old Stephen Wanjohi Kamande appeared before Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni at Milimani law courts, where he was charged with harassing and making death threats to the woman identified as Esther Nduta Githinji.

He is alleged to have committed the offenses on diverse dates between May 1st, 2021, and January 14th, 2022.

Kamande also faced two other counts of wrongfully distributing obscene materials and publishing false information about the woman's husband on his Facebook account.

"You are charged that on the diverse dates, at an unknown place, you knowingly published false information with the words "unasemanga uko na bibi" using your Facebook account Steven Kamande to Joel Thuo Mwangi knowing it to be false and calculated to cause fear and panic to Joel and his family," read the charge sheet in part.

He pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was released on Sh100,000 cash bail. The case will be mentioned on March 1st.
