Ruto Among Three Presidential Aspirants Invited by UDA Party for Interviews
United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has invited Deputy President William Ruto for an interview to determine his eligibility as a presidential candidate.
The party has also invited Tracy Wanjiru Kingoli and Jephnei Nyakwama, who have expressed interest in the UDA presidential ticket in the August 9th elections.
During the interviews, which come ahead of the party’s National Delegates Convention (NDC) set for next week, officials will verify the documents of the three, according to UDA Secretary-General Veronicah Maina.
“We are in receipt of your application to be nominated as a presidential candidate through the National Delegates Congress. Consequently, we invite you for verification of your documents and interview to determine your eligibility as a presidential candidate,” reads a letter sent to Ruto, Wanjiru, and Nyakwama.
Maina says Nyakwama has sought a waiver of the Sh1 million nomination fee for presidential aspirants eyeing the UDA party ticket.
“Further to your request, we hereby invite you to present your petition on Saturday 12th, March 2022 at 1000 hours at Hustler Plaza,” Maina said in a letter sent to Nyakwama.
The three are required to carry their national IDs, a colored passport-sized photograph on (soft copy), proof of payment of nomination fees, original and copy of the academic certificates, and an updated resume.
