Both Azimio and Kenya Kwanza Camps Have Known Thieves, Martha Karua Says
Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua says she is yet to decide which coalition she will join ahead of the August 9th elections.
Karua, who is eyeing the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat, said she is still weighing her options before throwing her support behind any coalition or presidential candidate.
She noted that both the Azimio La Umoja and Kenya Kwanza coalitions, which are led by ODM Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto respectively have known thieves and corrupt individuals.
βTo those asking my position on who I support for the Presidency, I want to say both teams (Azimio la Umoja and Kenya Kwanza Alliance) have thieves and corrupt individuals. But both of them also have a few good people in their ranks,β Karua said on Saturday.
Karua, a former MP for Gichugu, indicated that she will carefully examine the two camps and join the one with a commitment to fight corruption and theft of public funds.
"What I am looking for is a team with many good people. That is the team that I will join and save this country from the plundering of our resources. We must take part in the presidential election, but we must vote in a team with so many good people so that we save our country Kenya,β she added.
Odinga, 77, and Ruto, 55, are the two leading presidential candidates in the upcoming elections.
