MCA Aspirant Hacked to Death by Unknown Assailants in Kisii
An MCA aspirant has died after he was attacked by unknown assailants at his home in Kisii County.
Thomas Ontweka, who was eyeing the Bombaba Borabu ward representative seat on an ODM ticket, was hacked to death with a machete at his home in Bombaba, Bamachoge Borabu sub-county.
This came hours after he arrived home from Nairobi to prepare for the ODM party nominations slated for April 7th.
Area Chief Henry Magetto said the attack is suspected to be politically instigated.
His nephew Daniel Mayaka said Okari arrived home from Nairobi at around 11:00 pm and went straight to his bedroom.
He said the assailants gained entry into his house through the backdoor and hacked him in the head using a panga before escaping.
Moyaka says he was asleep when he heard Okari, 38, shouting for help and found him lying in a pool of blood when he rushed to his bedroom. Okari was rushed to Oasis Specialist Hospital in Kisii, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). He died from the injuries at 7:00 am on Monday.
Police have since launched investigations into the businessman’s death.
