Six Family Members Killed in a Suspected Arson Attack in Murang’a

Police in Murang’a County are investigating an incident in which six people were killed in a suspected arson attack.

The six family members including a mother, her three children, and two grandchildren were burned to death in their house in the Nguthuru area, Kandara Constituency early Sunday.

Police said the house where the six were burned to death was locked from the outside, which points to a possible arson.

A sister of the deceased woman has since been arrested in connection with the incident as further investigations continue.

It is alleged that the woman, who is the prime suspect in the attack, was living in the same house but she moved her belongings prior to the incident.

Neighbors told the media that the suspect and her deceased sister were embroiled in endless arguments over an unknown matter.

The suspect is currently being held at the Kabati police station.
