John Wanjohi Apr 24, 2022

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has announced she will not be vying for any elective seat in the August 9th elections.

Chege, who had declared interest in the Murang’a gubernatorial seat, says she will concentrate on national politics as a member of the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition party council.

“Finally the Holy Spirit has spoken, I will not be vying in any elective position in Murang'a County,” Chege announced through her social media pages.

“I will concentrate with National politics in Azimio la Umoja Council. Asanteni watu wa Murang'a nawapenda sana.”

The first-time MP is among the 11 members of the Azimio-One Kenya Council that is chaired by President Kenyatta.

She has been at the forefront in drumming up support for the Azimio-One Kenya presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga ahead of the forthcoming elections.

In parliament, Chege serves as the chair of the National Assembly Health Committee. She is also a member of the Liason Committee.
