Deputy President William Ruto’s daughter June Ruto and her Nigerian husband Dr. Alexander Ezenagu have celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

June, who is Ruto’s first-born daughter, reminisced about their wedding day on Facebook where she posted photos from her wedding day and traditional ceremony.

"Such an hour, day, a year ago I walked down the aisle, I thank Almighty God. One year married, and half our lives together. Here's to more adventures," June captioned the photos.

The couple tied the knot in a lavish invite-only ceremony held at Ruto’s residence in Karen, Nairobi in May last year.

Ezenagu is an Assistant Professor of Taxation and Commercial Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar. He is an Associate Research Fellow (Trade, Investments and Public-Private Partnerships) at the Institute for Oil, Gas, Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development Institute of Afe Babalola University in Nigeria.

The Nigerian holds a doctorate in International Tax Law from McGill University, Canada, and a Master of Law degree (LL.M) in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

June currently serves as the the Charge D'Affaires at the Kenyan Embassy in Warsaw, Poland. She studied international relations at the University of Queensland in Australia, and also holds a bachelor’s degree in diplomacy from the United States International University (USIU) in Nairobi.
