Police Officer Hospitalized with Serious Injuries After a Fight with a Gardener at Ruto's Karen Home
A police officer attached to Deputy President William Ruto has been admitted to a Nairobi hospital with serious injuries following a fight with a gardener.
The gardener is said to have hit Corporal Timothy Mugendi Rucha on the rear part of the head after the confrontation turned physical, according to a police report.
“The officer was taken to Nairobi West Hospital in critical condition with multiple head injuries,” reads the police report in part.
The incident occurred at around 12.20 pm on Thursday at Ruto’s private residence in Karen, Nairobi.
The gardener identified as Nicholas Kibiwot Rono has since been arrested and is being held in police custody pending arraignment.
What caused the altercation between the two remains unclear.
