IEBC Commissioner Claims a Foreigner Gained Access to IEBC Server and Manipulated Results
IEBC Commissioner Justus Nyang'aya claims that a foreigner and three IEBC officials were illegally given access to the commission’s server where they manipulated results for the presidential election.
In his response to the presidential petition filed at the Supreme Court challenging president-elect William Ruto’s win, Nyang'aya identified the foreign national as Gudino Omor, who he says gained access to the server from June 1st, 2022, and stayed till after the declaration of the final tally.
“That I am aware that a foreigner by the name Gudino Omor was able to access the commission’s server using user ID “O” and to pull down results that had been uploaded from the polling stations and later upload fresh results,” Nyang’aya says in a sworn affidavit.
Nyang’aya, who is among the four commissioners who disowned the results announced by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, adds that the foreigner’s logs can be easily traced from when he accessed the server, when he was active and inactive, and his activities on the server.
He also named IEBC officials Abdidahir Maalim, Moses Sunkuli, and Gideon Balang as the other individuals who accessed the commission’s servers, pulled down some uploaded results, and later uploaded others.
“These are the same officers who were helping the second respondent to unilaterally process the results, that were subsequently declared by the second respondent,” he adds.
The commissioner submits that there is evidence of the logs obtained from the IEBC server showing the IEBC staff interfering with data stored on the server.
Nyang’aya further claims that changes were made on Forms 34B after being previously pulled down and uploaded afresh.
