President Ruto Invites 40 Clerics to Consecrate State House

President Ruto on Sunday invited members of the clergy to consecrate State House, the official residence of the president of Kenya.

This was after the president hosted a prayer and thanksgiving service in the precincts of State House following his recent trip to New York, where he attended the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Speaking during the prayer service, Ruto requested the clerics who attended the mass to pray, cleanse and bless the residence previously occupied by his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta for 10 years.

“After this service, please don’t leave. There will be part two of this service, which isn’t as organized as Part One…I want you all to speak a word of blessing around this compound. And those who can speak in tongues, please speak in tongues around this compound,” said Ruto as quoted by People Daily.

“I’ll ask 30 to 40 members of the clergy to pray over this building (State House). To you all, don’t be in a hurry to leave. Walk around State House as you pray in tongues. Let everyone know that we are finally here.”

He added: “Goliath was there, in full armor. We were told that the deep state will stop our bid, but God saw us through...We are here today because of God and prayer. Kenya is being celebrated across the world for [holding] a peaceful and transparent election.”

On her part, First Lady Rachel Ruto said the doors of State House will always be open to members of the clergy under Ruto’s presidency, adding that such thanksgiving services will be held on a regular basis.

"I want to tell the church that this is not the last service we are having, you will be coming here month after month to give thanks to the Lord for doing us good. When the Lord answers your prayer, you go to give thanks and we will not do it just once; we will keep coming to this altar that the fathers have laid here today in the State House,” she said.

“As an intercessor, I am very excited, I feel the doors have been opened. Thank you so much to our president for allowing us intercessors to walk into this compound today to pray, we are very excited.”
