Chebukati’s Wife, Isaac Mwaura and Nixon Korir Among 477 Applicants Shortlisted for Principal Secretary Posts
IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati’s wife Mary Chebukati is among the 477 applicants who have been shortlisted for the 49 Principal Secretary positions advertised by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The list also includes a number of individuals who served as Principal Secretaries under President Kenyatta’s administration, among them Fred Sigor (Wildlife), Nelson Marwa (Social Protection), Margaret Mwakimu (TVET), Charles Hinga (Housing), Jerome Ochieng (ICT and Innovation), Francis Owino (Agriculture), Saitoti Torome (Planning), Julius Jwan (Education), Susan Mochache (Health) and Belio Kipsang (Northern Corridor Development).
Others are Peter Kaberia (Industrialisation), Esther Koimett (Telecommunications), Dr. Chris Kiptoo (Environment and Forestry), Micah Powon (Devolution), Simon Nasbukwesi (Education), Andrew Tuimur (Water and Sanitation), Ali Noor Ismail (Co-operatives), and Joseph Irungu (Water and Sanitation).
Others who made the cut are Education Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Sarah Ruto, Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi, and Director General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth.
Politicians allied with President Ruto also feature on the list. They include former Narok Governor Samuel Tunai, former Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, former Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir and former Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa, former Wajir West MP Ahmed Kolosh and former Isiolo Woman Representative Rehema Jaldesa.
The PSC said the 477 applicants were selected out of the 9,154 people who applied for the recently advertised positions. Interviews will be conducted in Nairobi between October 12th and 22nd, after which the final list of successful candidates will be forwarded to President Ruto for appointment.
