John Wanjohi Oct 19, 2022

Prof. Kithure Kindiki, the Cabinet Secretary nominee for Interior and Coordination of National Government has revealed his net worth is Sh544 million, which was generated from his 22-year practice as an advocate as well as business.

Speaking on Tuesday when he appeared before the National Assembly Committee of Appointments, Kindiki said Sh165 million is made of income from rental assets, Sh50 million in bank deposits while the remaining is invested in shares and deposits in five different Saccos.

The former Tharaka-Nithi County Senator further said he accumulated part of his fortune from working as a consultant in local and international organizations, including the United Nations.

"My Net worth is Sh544 million. At the moment I am an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, I practice law. I am also a business person running a number of SMEs and I am also a consultant for local and international organizations,” Kindiki told the panel.

If his nomination is approved, Kindiki said his first assignment will be to set the country free from criminals and bandits, vowing to flatten gorges used as hideouts by bandits and cattle rustlers in the North Rift Valley region.

"I want to assure Kenyans that I will make whatever sacrifices that would require to be made and I will remain focused until this problem is over even if it mean come to live in the North Rift,” he said.

"This will not be through press conferences we will speak less because security doesn’t require speaking.”
