Kenyan Man Kills Brother in an Alleged Love Triangle Involving Their Sister
Police in Kirinyaga County are searching for a man who is suspected to have killed his elder brother in a fight over an incestuous love affair with their sister.
The suspect identified as Benard Njere, 31, is said to have descended on his brother Samuel Irungu, 37, after finding him "in a compromising situation" with their 17-year-old sister, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
“The deceased who also had a clandestine love affair with the 17-year-old and couldn’t come to terms with what he had witnessed descended on his brother with fury, prompting a fierce fight that led to his demise,” DCI said.
Their father, who reported the matter to police, said his eldest son was hit using a blunt object on the head, face and the back. He died while undergoing treatment at Karatina Sub-County Hospital, DCI added.
“Detectives who immediately visited the homestead discovered that the deceased had sometime last year impregnated the step sister, who experienced a stillbirth in March this year,” DCI said.
The murder suspect, who escaped from the murder scene, is still at large and efforts are being made to arrest and charge him.
