Former President Uhuru Kenyatta Presents Christmas Gifts to Children Homes
Former president Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday visited various children’s homes in his home county of Kiambu, where he shared Christmas goodies.
Kenyatta, who left office in August after a 10-year reign, presented Christmas gifts to kids at Children’s Garden Home and School in Uthiru, Mama Fatuma Goodwill Children’s Home, and Gatundu Children’s Home.
In his holiday message, the retired president urged everyone to “allow the spirit of Joy and peace to dwell in our homes and hearts, as we commemorate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.”
“Christmas is a season when we remember the greatest gift God gave humanity in form of love through the birth of his only son Jesus Christ. As we spend time with those we love, let us celebrate each other and remember to count our blessings,” Uhuru said.
Kenyatta, 61, has maintained a relatively low profile since leaving office in August, and mainly focuses on peace initiatives in the DRC and Ethiopia as the regional peace envoy.
