Hatutishwi: Raila Says Jacaranda Rally to Continue as Planned

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga says Sunday’s public rally at Jacaranda grounds will go on as planned.

Through Twitter on Saturday, Odinga insisted that he will not be cowed by anyone and urged his supporters to turn up for the rally in huge numbers.

“Hatutishwi wala hatutatishwa. Tukutane Jacaranda!” tweeted Odinga.

Speaking during a rally at Kamkunji grounds last Monday, Odinga announced he does not recognize Ruto as president, saying the 2022 presidential election was rigged in his favor.

“We demand that the Kenya Kwanza government resigns since it has neither the mandate nor the ability to govern the country,” said Odinga.

“We do not, and will not recognise the Kenya Kwanza regime and we consider the Kenya Kwanza government illegitimate,” he added.

Odinga spoke in light of a dossier by a purported Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) whistleblower claiming that he defeated Ruto in the August 9th election.

The whistleblower claims Odinga won the election after garnering 8,170,355 votes ahead of Ruto who reportedly managed 5,919,973 votes.

Odinga claimed that former IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati, CEO Marjan Hussein and two commissioners, Adi Guliye and Boya Molu, “formed a cartel within IEBC to cook their own results”.

He further faulted the Supreme Court for upholding Ruto’s victory, saying the judges were equally compromised by called cartels.

On Friday, President Ruto blasted Odinga over his plans to hold rallies, adding that he will not be distracted by the sideshows.

“They have taken their children to the [East Africa Legislative Assembly] in Arusha but they are taking your children in Kamkunji and Jacaranda to throw stones…We will not accept that,” Ruto stated.
