President Ruto Appoints Allies to Various State Corporations

President Ruto has rewarded his allies in the latest appointments to the boards of various State corporations.

The new list of appointments is dominated by a section of Ruto-allied politicians who lost in the August 2022 elections including former Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma, former Nandi fgovernor Cleophas Lagat, former Starehe MP Charles Kanyi Jaguar, former LSK president Nelson Havi, former Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono, former Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu, former Nambale MP Sakwa Bunyasi, former Kericho deputy governor Lily Ng’ok, and former Bomet East MP Beatrice Kones.

Ranguma was appointed the Chairperson of the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority for three years while Havi will take over as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) for a three-year term.

Bunyasi was appointed the Chairperson of the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board for three years while Rono was named the Chairperson of the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (Kemsa) board.

Kones replaces Haro Guyo Okola as a member of the Local Authorities Provident Fund whereas former Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu was appointed the Chair of the National Housing Corporation board.

Other persons appointed in the capacity of board chairpersons were Shaka Kariuki (Competition Authority), Edick Omondi (Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority), Robert Theuri (Kenya Library Services), and Jane Kiptoo (Bomas of Kenya).

Cleophas Lagat (Rivatex East Africa Ltd), Hussein Tene (Kenya National Trading Corporation), and Sally Njambi (Kenya Investment Authority) were also appointed to serve as the chairpersons of the respective institutions.
