Raila: I Hired Ethical Hackers to Hack IEBC Servers
Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga claims he worked with ethical hackers to determine how the results of the August 2022 presidential election were manipulated in favor of President Ruto.
Speaking during an interview with Ramogi TV, Odinga said the foreign hacking experts established that the IEBC announced different figures from the ones captured in the servers.
He said the IT gurus entered the country with their machines but their movements were tracked by the government for about a month, forcing them to work outside of Nairobi
“We got them [hackers] from abroad and they came with their machines. They had to go as far as Athi River, some in Kajiado and even Kiambu because they were being tracked for about a month,” he said.
Odinga claims he won the election with a margin of 2.2 million after garnering 8.1 million votes while President Ruto got 5.9 million votes.
“These revelations came while I was in South Africa, so I promised my supporters that I would address them once I am back in the country. It was evident that Ruto did not win clean from the last general elections.” Raila said.
“I did not want to talk about the results and elections, I could have been seen to be lamenting a lot. I had to look for ethical hackers to know the truth,” he added.
Odinga, who has demanded that the IEBC open its servers for scrutiny, further said he and former President Uhuru Kenyatta agitated for a free and fair election and agreed that none of them was to be involved in rigging.
“When I was with him, we agreed that the election would not be interfered with in any way because we knew we would win.”
“There were no plans to rig, which is the MOU we signed with Uhuru. He knows what happened, and people may ask why he did not help, yet he was the President. What happened is that there were people who were supposed to do something, and they did not,” he stated.
