Kenyan Socialite Pesh Released from Jail in Ghana After Seven Years
Kenyan socialite Peninah Lema Munyithya, alias Pesh, appears to have been released from jail in Ghana if the recent activity on her social media page is anything to go by.
Pesh, who was arrested in Ghana in 2015 for drug trafficking, recently changed her Facebook profile picture and made her first posts in seven years.
"Positivity should always drive you," wrote.
The socialite also shared a video of herself dancing to a song as she enjoyed her newfound freedom.
Before her latest posts, Pesh was last active on Facebook on July 29, 2015, when she announced she was at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) en route to Ghana for a holiday.
Pesh, who rose to fame online in 2015 after her lewd photos leaked, was arrested at an airport in Ghana for trafficking drugs.
The following year, she was found guilty of drug trafficking and subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison, but it appears she was set free after serving seven years.
It is alleged that her Nigerian boyfriend put the drugs in her luggage without her knowledge.
At the time of her arrest, the socialite was still a student at Mount Kenya University pursuing a degree in Project Management.
