John Wanjohi Feb 25, 2023

Radio journalist John Njogu Njoroge, alias Njogu wa Njoroge has landed a government job in the latest appointments by President Ruto’s administration.

Njoroge was appointed the Chairperson of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), a State agency that oversees the production, distribution, and exhibition of films in the country.

The appointment was made by Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba through Gazette Notice No. 10677 of 2023.

Namwamba also appointed John Muigai Nyururu, Hariety Namwezi Zitah, Stephanie Kamene Maseki, Kipruto Kiptoo, John Osimbo, Grace Mwendwa Munjuri, and Raphael Ekadeli Loperito as members of the KFCB board for a period of three years with effect from February 24th.

The gazette notice revoked the previous appointments to the KFCB board.

The appointment of Njoroge is part of a larger reorganization of the boards of several State corporations in the energy, ICT, and film sectors.

Njoroge, a former presenter at Kameme FM and Inooro FM, was eying the Njoro parliamentary seat in the August 9th, 2022 elections but lost at the party nomination stage.

He suffered a defeat at the hands of incumbent Njoro MP Charity Chepkwony Kathambi in the race for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket.
