Ruto Appoints Former MP Caleb Kositany as Chair of Kenya Airports Authority
President Ruto has appointed former Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany as the Chairperson of the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) board of directors.
Kositany, who will serve in the position for a period of three years effective March 17th, was appointed through a gazette notice dated March 15th.
Kositany was eyeing the Uasin Gishu County governor’s seat in the August 9th, 2022 general election but he lost in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party primaries to current Governor Jonathan Bii.
The Kenya Airports Authority is an autonomous body responsible for the provision and management of all airports in the country.
As the agency’s chair, Kositany will be responsible for managing all activities relating to policy decisions within the airports.
Kositany’s appointment comes as President Ruto continues to restructure the government by bringing in new faces to lead various State agencies.
The former Soy MP was among the candidates shortlisted for the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) position.
