Jubilee Kicks Out Sabina Chege, Kanini Kega
Jubilee party has ousted rebel leaders in the party including nominated MP Sabina Chege, Eala legislator Kanini Kega and Nelson Dzuya.
Other leaders expelled during the party's National Delegates Conference on Monday include Former MPs Jimi Angwenyi, Naomi Shaban, Joshua Kutuny, Mutava Musyimi, and Rachel Nyamai. The party leaders celebrated these changes saying they will help end party disloyalty. Mr Kenyatta hosted the NDC at Ngong Race Course accompanied by Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and Vice Chair David Murathe.
Party leaders lashed out at Kega's faction, castigating them for advancing internal divisions and hindering the party from pursuing its goals. Jubilee also announced leaders taking over the vacant positions. Mr Dzuya was replaced by Former Permanent Secretary Saitoti Torome and Mr Kutuny's deputy secretary-general position was taken by Yasin Noor. Jamleck Kamau was appointed the national director of elections taking over from Mr Kega.
The party also appointed blogger Pauline Njoroge as its deputy organizing secretary and Maison Leshoomo was named the Women’s League national chair.
Mr Kioni and Mr Murathe affirmed that they remain the bonafide officials of the party. He also derailed the rebel leaders' attempts to take over the party.
"We had our last NDC on February 26, 2022. During that NDC, we resolved that we would be members of the Azimio coalition and terminated all forms of cooperation with UDA," Jubilee secretary general Jeremia Kioni said.
