I Deserve to be Celebrated for Accomplishing A Lot As a School Dropout, Says Oscar Sudi
Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi has responded to claims that he dropped out of school at Standard Seven.
Sudi disputed the assertions a day after a long court hearing during which the investigating officer claimed to have visited all the schools Sudi allegedly attended, only to find his name missing except in a primary school in Eldoret. The officer, Derrick Kaisha, told the court during his submission on Wednesday. In response to Kaisha's disclosure, Sudi applauded himself for achieving a lot in life regardless of dropping out of school in Primary.
“If I can manage to get this far just as class seven drop out then I deserve to be celebrated,” Sudi said.
Kaisha reported to the court that the evidence obtained did not confirm Sudi's account of having taken the KCSE exam at Highway Secondary, nor did it suggest he had earned a business management diploma from KIM. The officer pointed out that the information on the certificates was inaccurate, including the name of the school, incorrect index numbers, and counterfeit signatures. In closing, Kaisha conveyed that all documents in questions were doctored.
Kaisha was responding to a lawsuit that linked Sudi to allegations of forging his academic credentials and providing false information to the IEBC and EACC when he applied to run in the 2013 elections. The MP is also accused of not being truthful in his self-declaration form to IEBC at Barng'etuny Plaza in Eldoret in 2015, which contravenes section 46 of the Leadership and Integrity Act. The evident produced in court by Kaisha supported the statements of the earlier witnesses about the aunthencity of Sudi's documents.
