Finance Bill Battle Far From Over, Raila Troops Warn Kenya Kwanza

Leaders allied to Azimio One Kenya Coalition have maintained that the battle over the Finance Bill 2023 is not yet finished. 

The coalition plans to explore other options to dispute the Finance Bill 2023, which the outfit deems oppressive. Speaking during an education day on Friday in the Rarieda sub-county, the leaders, including Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo, Siaya Governor James Orengo, MPs Babu Owino, John Mbadi, and Samuel Atandi, said they had attempted to stop the Bill at every stage, but it passed because Kenya Kwanza had numbers. 

Senators Oburu Oginga and Enock Wambua were also present. Amollo warned the Kenya Kwanza government to hold off on their celebrations. He added that they will only resume bipartisan talks when instructed by Kenyans to do so.

"Parliament exercises delegated authority and we're warning our friends on the other side that it is not the end of the road. We will only resume the talks when the Kenya Kwanza colleagues say that they are ready to do so," he said Amollo.

ODM Chairman Mbadi denounced the coalition MPs who have decided to side with the ruling party. According to Mbadi, the Nyanza region has not witnessed any development during periods in which Raila Odinga was detached from the Government. Deputy Minority leader Wambua asked the rebel MPs to resign and seek a fresh mandate. Wambua's sentiments were echoed by Amollo, who challenged those elected in political parties to stick to their parties
