I Have Made Millions From Content Creation in the UK, Says Shorn Arwa
UK-based Kenyan content creator Shorn Arwa claims that she has raked in millions of shillings from content creation since relocating to the UK.
Through an Instagram post on Friday, July 14, Arwa expressed joy that her craft is being relished and acknowledged in her new home. She noted that she is already reaping the rewards of her hard work despite her brief stay. She mentioned that sharing her success helps to motivate other aspiring content creators to stay on the right track. Shorn recalled the difficulties she had experienced in Kenya while seeking employment and how some clients were unsure how to classify her content.
“I remember one time asking someone “big” in Kenya for some gig and he said. We can`t categorize you anywhere, we do not know what to do with your type of content. I felt so sad for real but today that type of content that couldn’t be categorized back home gave me a couple of millions,” she said.
In April 2023, Arwa made the move to the UK. During her goodbye party, she expressed her fears, such as the new reality of raising her son in an entirely new place. Her closest family and friends, including Nairofey, Lynn, and Nancy, organised a touching gathering for her to say goodbye to her family. Relocating to a different country meant leaving her friends and family behind while embarking on a new journey and raising her child in an unknown environment.
Shorn's loved ones had organized a special farewell event for her, which was full of bittersweet memories and feelings. Her family members spoke in turn about how much they would miss her. Even though she had always wanted to leave Kenya, she found that the reality of it was more complicated than she had anticipated. She said, “When I finally realized I was leaving, I wasn’t as excited as I had expected myself to be. It hit me that my son won’t have the same childhood experiences I had, like going to my friend's house or planning trips to Mombasa and Malindi.”
