Raila Throws Ida Lavish Birthday and Anniversary Party

Azimio leader Raila Odinga celebrated his wife Ida Odinga's 73rd birthday and their 50th wedding anniversary in an extravagant event on Thursday.

The couple arrived at the opulent five-star hotel in Nairobi where Raila serenaded Ida with a delightful birthday song in both German and English. The celebration was attended by prominent Azimio leaders, close friends, and renowned personalities from the entertainment industry. Ida, dressed in a stunning green African lace gown was welcomed by a traditional dance performance upon arrival setting the tone for a culturally rich and joyous evening. Raila spared no expense in organizing the memorable celebration for Mama Ida who radiated elegance with her impeccable makeup and bouquet of birthday flowers.

“As the day dawns and the moment arrives, it's my privilege to extend heartfelt birthday wishes to her. Her radiant countenance speaks volumes, and we wholeheartedly desire an abundance of years ahead. In a former chapter of my journey, I embraced life in Germany, and so, I shall grace her day with a melodious rendition of 'Happy Birthday' in both German and English,” he said.

Ida later made a graceful wardrobe change and donned a stunning green and gold African Velvet lace skirt suit. Meanwhile, Raila showcased his signature style by wearing a classic blue vintage button-down shirt paired with navy blue trousers and loafers. Distinguished political minds made appearances at the birthday celebration including Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, James Orengo, Eugene Wamalwa, and Babu Owino.

Guests were treated to a night of entertainment, including performances by Prince Inda and MCs Oga Obinna and Maurice Ochieng aka Mdomo Baggy. Akothee and Eric Omondi were also in attendance and those who attended followed the dress code of wearing shades of green or blue and gold. The event was described as a celebration of Ida's contributions to society.
