YouTube Terminates Andrew Kibe's Channel

Media personality Andrew Kibe has revealed his intentions to switch to a different platform after YouTube terminated his channel.

On September 11, Kibe's channel was removed and he took to platform X to express his displeasure with the loss. It is unclear why Kibe's YouTube account which featured nearly 500,000 subscribers, 159.5 million views and 3,000 videos was terminated. YouTube can terminate an account if one repeatedly violates community guidelines or terms of service by posting abusive, hateful, and/or harassing content.

One case of severe abuse such as predatory behaviour, spam or pornography, or dedication to a policy violation such as hate speech, harassment, or impersonation can also lead to channel termination. Copyright infringement claims can also result in YouTube channel termination. According to YouTube, one can file an appeal on the platform. In his recent announcement, Kibe said he would move to a new platform called Yafreeka. He also stated that he would continue to connect with his followers on TikTok, Instagram, Rumble, and X.

Andrew Kibe is one of the most entertaining media personalities in Kenya. He began his career as a radio presenter at NRG Radio where he co-hosted the breakfast show with Kamene Goro. Later, Kibe moved to Kiss FM and hosted the morning show alongside Kamene Goro. However, in 2020, Kibe left his job at Kiss 100 and relocated to the USA where he currently creates and promotes content on his social platforms.

Kibe has kept his childhood a secret, including the identity of his parents. However, he did reveal having a strained relationship with his deceased sister. Kibe attended Nairobi Milimani School but has chosen not to disclose what he studied or the degree he attained. There have been speculations that Kibe was previously a clergyman and there are photo proofs that point in that direction.
