Kenyan Woman Narrates Ordeal of Deportation From Germany
Kenyan woman Stemy Yelsha recently recounted her journey of deportation from Germany, accompanied by her young daughter.
Hailing from Kenya, Stemy reluctantly migrated to Germany along with her mother. However, to her dismay, her stay in the European nation was shortened when her landlord unanticipatedly expelled her. Adding to her troubles, she struggled with her paperwork that continued to be mailed to her previous residence. Given a mere three weeks to leave, Stemy situation took an unexpected turn when she discovered she was pregnant with her former Nigerian boyfriend. This granted her a bit more time but her petitions to avert deportation were to no avail.
On October 18th, Stemy posted a heart-wrenching video recounting her ordeal of getting deported. She is devastated by her experience and intends to seek counselling to overcome her pain. She is disheartened not only due to her return to Kenya but also because of the heartbreaking realization that the people she counted on abandoned her during her darkest moments. Stemy broke down on several occasions, recounting having not received support from her mother when she needed it most. Before leaving, Stemy was unable to sell her belongings and was obligated to dispose of most of her possessions.
Stemy discloses that she and her daughter could only carry a total of 46kg of baggage during their departure. With mixed emotions, they embarked on their journey home. However, to her surprise, they were detained and interrogated at the airport before boarding. For Stemy, who had been away from Kenya for so long, this experience made her curious about what awaited her upon her return. Making a stop in Doha, Qatar, they then boarded a connecting flight to Nairobi
After arriving in Nairobi, Stemy was met with an incredible amount of support from her local community. In other news, an African lady in Canada is facing deportation. Although she had secured a job with a sponsor, a failed mental assessment has placed her future in Canada at risk. Upon realizing the gravity of her situation, she now pleads for prayers in the hopes of avoiding deportation and keeping her dream job.
