President William Ruto has expressed the country's intention to send a minimum of 5,000 Kenyans abroad every week for employment opportunities in his efforts to address unemployment.

Together with Florence Bore, the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection, the government is striving to ink a labour agreement with two nations to promote the deployment of Kenyans overseas. The ultimate objective is to improve remittances, achieve self-sufficiency, and ultimately promote development in Kenya. Ruto stresses that his overseas travels revolve around seeking opportunities for Kenyans to gain advantages and secure employment in foreign lands.

"Kila wiki, tunataka kutuma karibu watu 3,000 ama 5,000 waende wafanye kazi duniani kote ndio waweze kutuletea pesa, wajisimamie, na pia tuweze kubadilisha Kenya mzima," he says.

He affirms that his goal for travelling abroad is not for pleasure but to advance the welfare of the citizens of Kenya, as compelled by his electoral mandate. Today, he will set out on an official trip to Germany. Additionally, the Head of State has divulged plans to establish a national hub for businesses and factories in Bomet county.

"Nimekua Saudi Arabia last week, Rais wa Ujerumani alikua Kenya karibu miezi tatu iliopita, alituhaidi ya kwamba kuna nafasi ya watu elfu kumi na mbili, lazima niende nipange hio kazi, rais wa Ufaranza vile vile kuna jinsi tumekubaliana," he said.

During a religious service held on Sunday in Sotik, Bomet County, Ruto unveiled a new project that will integrate agro-processing, value addition, and manufacturing facilities to stimulate job creation within the county. The government has allocated Sh500 million to fund this initiative.
