US-Based Kenyan Billionaire Awarded for Outstanding Contributions to Social Infrastructure Development
US-based Kenyan billionaire Julius Mwale has received the Social Infrastructure Award at the Africa Prosperity Champions Awards event in Accra, Ghana.
Mwale is honoured with the award for his noteworthy impact and investments in the healthcare field, mainly through the creation of the Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC) in Butere, Kakamega. MMTC, a facility owned by the community, showcases an advanced medical and technology complex. The highly regarded presidential Gala award dinner occurred at Kempinski Gold Coast City and was presided over by Ghana's President, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Africa Prosperity Network Chairman Gabby Asere Darko commended Mwale for his wise business choice to invest a significant amount in a crucial healthcare establishment in Kenya. Darko also praised Mwale for ensuring that ordinary Kenyans, especially those under the National Hospital Insurance Fund, can easily access healthcare. Darko hopes that Mwale's success will encourage more people to invest in healthcare as it aligns with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA).
Mwale and Patricia Scotland were acknowledged for their efforts in promoting trade in Africa within the Commonwealth. Other recipients of this recognition were Ivory Coast President Alassane Quattara, Nigerian creative entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade and deputy Speaker and chairman of Egypt's Cleopatra group Mohammed El Enein.
The main aim of the Africa Prosperity Network is to advance Africa's interests by organizing significant conversations that influence the perspectives of key figures in various fields like commerce, finance, government, and society. This gathering united a group of 400 of Africa's most powerful individuals, which included presidents, CEOs, ministers, and decision-makers.
