Kenyan man Kevin Kangethe accused of killing his girlfriend Marget Mbitu at a US airport last year has been apprehended.

According to sources, the 40-year-old individual was apprehended on Monday evening at a club in Westlands following a tip-off from the public. At present, Kangethe is in custody at Gigiri Police Station while inquiries continue regarding the November 7, 2023 incident. The lifeless body of the Kenyan nurse Margaret Mbitu was discovered inside a vehicle in the parking area of Boston Logan Airport

As per Massachusetts State Police, Kangethe escaped to Nairobi after perpetrating the offence. American officials acquired an arrest warrant for the culprit and sought aid from Kenyan authorities in tracking him down and extraditing him. He has managed to elude capture for three months and has been listed on the Interpol Red Notice which serves as an international appeal for law enforcement authorities to find and temporarily detain the person until extradition, surrender, or legal measures can be taken.

Kangethe has been apprehended and is currently under investigation. Kenyan authorities will initiate the procedures for his extradition once they definitively establish his identity. Last year, American law enforcement uncovered the suspect's vehicle in a parking area. Moreover, Mbitu's body displayed evident incisions caused by a knife on the neck, face, and chest.

As a result of this incident, the police released pictures of the suspect to the public in hopes that citizens could assist in locating him. Meanwhile, Mbitu's family has urged the police to conduct a swift investigation for the sake of justice. The victim's mother has revealed that her daughter had planned to end her relationship with the suspect before the incident.
