Ian Churman Kengen and Audrey Chemutai Rutto's wedding was a joyous celebration that defied geographical boundaries and paid homage to their cherished Kalenjin cultural traditions.

Despite residing in Australia, the couple's profound love for each other and their heritage shone brightly throughout their wedding. Their love story began in 2018 when they first crossed paths at a local church during Audrey's visit to Ziwa village in Kenya. Though initially separated by distance, their connection rekindled in May 2023, leading Ian to propose to Audrey on January 27, 2024, marking a momentous breakthrough in their relationship. Before their grand wedding, the couple honoured the traditional Koito ceremony on April 3, 2024, via zoom.

This was followed by an engagement party in Audrey's hometown of Adelaide on April 4, where their families and friends gathered to commemorate their love and commitment. On June 2, 2024, Ian and Audrey exchanged vows in a resplendent ceremony held in Sydney, Australia. The multicultural celebration, attended by 350 guests, predominantly Kenyans, was a vibrant affair infused with Kalenjin ceremonial songs and dances, creating lasting memories for all in attendance. The couple's parents were present, bearing witness to their children's union, which transcended geographical boundaries.

Ian and Audrey expressed their profound gratitude for the successful event, acknowledging the blessings bestowed upon them by God. The smooth planning process and the support from their loved ones made their wedding day truly special and unforgettable.
