Suspected Kware Serial Killer Arrested and Confesses to 42 Murders
Nairobi authorities have apprehended Collins Jumaisha as the prime suspect in a series of brutal murders that have rocked the city.
The case came to light when residents of Kware in Mukuru kwa Njenga, Embakasi South Constituency, made a gruesome discovery of dismembered bodies at a local dump site. The arrest of the 33-year-old man came after an intensive investigation that utilized forensic analysis and mobile phone tracking. The suspect was captured outside a club where he had been watching the Euro 2024 Finals between Spain and England, moments before he was allegedly planning to lure his next victim, Susan.
The breakthrough in the case came when police traced a mobile phone belonging to one of the victims Josephine Mulongo Owino and analyzed mobile money transactions on the day of her disappearance. A search of Jumaisha's residence, located approximately 100 meters from the dumpsite, yielded a trove of incriminating evidence. Among the items recovered were multiple SIM cards, smartphones, a laptop, storage devices, and a machete believed to have been used in dismembering the victims.
Additionally, investigators found sacks similar to those used to conceal the bodies along with personal identification documents of potential victims and other suspicious items. In a chilling confession, Jumaisha has admitted to the murder and disposal of 42 female bodies at the Kware dumpsite. He reveals that his first victim was his own wife, Imelda Judith Khalenya, whom he killed in 2022. As of Monday morning, nine bodies had been recovered from the dumpsite and transferred to the Nairobi Funeral Home for postmortem examinations.
The police investigation continues as authorities work to uncover the full extent of Jumaisha's alleged killing spree and piece together the details of this horrifying case.
