This phenomenon, which began as a protest anthem in Kenya, has been transformed into a global celebration of Kenyan spirit and resilience. On July 16, 2024, at the NBC Summer Press Tour in Los Angeles, US-based Kenyan model and entrepreneur Rachel Mbuki orchestrated a memorable event that brought together some of America's most recognizable television personalities. Stars such as Reba McEntire, Kelli Williams, Bellisa Escobedo, and Shanola Hampton enthusiastically participated in the "Anguka Nayo" challenge on the red carpet.

The challenge, which involves a catchy slogan and dance, originated from a song by Arbantone that has become synonymous with anti-government protests in Kenya. Mbuki, leveraging her role as the founder of entertainment outlet Xtra Access, guided celebrity after celebrity through the challenge. While some stars pronounced "Anguka Nayo" with ease, others struggled but compensated with genuine enthusiasm and spirited dance moves. Various celebrities expressed their solidarity with Kenya.

Khayun Kim from St. Denis Medical and Nyambi Nyambi of Night Court fame both declared their love for the country. Actress Wendi McLendon went further, emphasizing the importance of Kenya's younger generation in shaping the future. Country music legend Reba McEntire, along with other stars like Jessy Schram, Mellisa Peterman, Reid Scott, and LaRoyce Hawkings, all joined in the challenge, expressing affection for Kenya and its people. Mbuki later shared the experience on Instagram, reminding Kenya's youth of the global support they enjoy as they continue their efforts for change.
