@kikariu: Here is an opportunity for an ALL-Kenyans invocation and march. Mashujaa March on Washington / Thursday Oct 19th starting with an invocation/prayer service at 11am at St. Stephen's 1525 Newton Ave, NW DC. From there we march to the Embassy at 2249 R St, NW DC where we will present demands leading to justice and reconciliation especially for those who have - through out Kenya's electoral history - suffered political violence, killings and disappearance. Let others know by sharing this link. Shukran. https://www.facebook.com/MashujaaMarch/
If I was in the area I would definately attend the gathering but I live in California but I will be there in spirit. The reason I am for UhuRuto is because they are the dynamic duo, every time I visit Kenya can not help notice how focused this current team is on infrastructure development and empowerment projects in education and health, more has been done for Kenyans in the last 5 years more that in last 25 years put together... Why interupt them? Wacha kazi iendelee!!! Tano Tena!!!
@Anne Mumbi Kamau. Seriously? For whom have the education and health sector gotten better? Are you aware that there have been more doctors, nurses and teachers' strikes in the past 5 years that in any other time in Kenya's history? Are you aware that the corruption index has spiked in the past administration than any other time? Do you know that all the corruption scandals, even those admitted to during this government, no one has been prosecuted? Are you aware that Kenya's inequality index is now one of the highest in Africa, with about only 0.02% of population owning 62% of the wealth? Of course I recognize the infrastructure. At what cost considering the national debt that now stands at 4 trillion/-. Are Kenyans, with a poverty level of 42% and an unemployment rate of 41% going to pay off this debt? Are you aware that Kenya ranks the highest in police and extrajudicial killings in Africa, as of a 2017 report? And that does not include persons killed just before and after the 8/8 elections, including children. Does all this not bother you? It's ok to support whomever you want to, but you have to tell the truth as to why. The reasons you give don't wash with reality.
@ Mkawasi Mcharo Hall you just want to sound like someone that is educated. Where is you data source. When you have such heavy statistics please has the source. I was on united Nations Website. There data says otherwise. There has been spike in economic growth and In-fact the debt ceiling was realized by some projects that have strong predictions to cover the costs. Raila on the other hand has costed millions is economic sabotage, bsuiness, tourism etc. It bothers me Raila et al., is not in Jail
@John Mukuno. I'm not trying to sound educated; I AM educated. I welcome debates that challenge whatever I put out based on logical deductions and facts. Do your own counter-research on what I've put out and don't ask for a spoon-fed debate just to test my level of educatedness. Now, I'm aware of statistics that will give a rosy picture of Kenya's economy. Ever heard of the quote "there are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies and statistics"? You cannot use one set of statistics to conveniently apply logic for the whole. Just like you cannot decide to describe an elephant from whatever point of view that supports the image you wish to sell. If you say the elephant is a pair of beautiful tusks and nothing else, you become a spin doctor. For example, Turkana, which is in Kenya, has four times the level of poverty that Nairobi has (87% to 21%). Now, you go tell Turkana people that Kenya has witnessed economic growth. The same applies to many parts of Kenya. Of the 10 Sub-Saharan African countries with the highest wealth disparity, Kenya ranks 6th. If anyone lives in Runda and has bought 3 more homes and live in delusion that Kenya is now a wealthy "middle income" country then I suggest they open their eyes to how thousands of our fellow Kenyans are living a stone-throw away. This willful blindness to a sad reality all over Kenya is what will create a revolution. The country's national debt is at an astronomical high like never before and surely, this is a basic fact you should know? The story of the rising economy is lopsided and seriously flawed and the current political crisis does not bode well for a reversal of fortunes.
I did not know we are that idol to attend a day for UHUROTO TANO. Why cant you call for a prayer for kenya instead. Kenya needs a bigger prayer than UHURUTO and NASA. Iam not a luo or from western I am from between the slopes of Nyandarua(Aberdares and Mount Kenya to the East). My Grandfather was a true MAUMAU hailed from (Kinyona,Ichichi, Rwathia, Tuthu gwa karuri Kiriaini and othaya) some of the epicenter of maumau. Make it simple and clear UHURUTO doesn't pay my bills, why waste my time to praise the privileged idiots. Kenyatta Father was so arrogant and selfish that he even cursed the people beyond Chania river never to lead kenya after they died fighting in the slopes then he took all of the cause (land) which this poor people were fighting for and all we do is praise them. well that was my opinion and my 2 seconds of Rambling.
