Jubilee Party’s Fahim Twaha has defeated incumbent Lamu governor Issa Timamy of Amani National Congress (ANC).
Twaha, a former Lamu West MP, won with 22,969 votes (46.57%) against Timamy’s 22,848 votes (45.45%) with all 167 polling stations reporting.
In the Lamu senatorial race, Hassan Albeit of Wiper Democratic Party (WDP) beat his closest rival, Anwar Loitiptop of Jubilee Party.
Incumbent Shakilla Abdalla of Wiper lost the county’s Women Representative seat to Ruweida Mohamed Obbo of Jubilee Party.
In the parliamentary races, Lamu West MP Julius Ndegwa of Safina Party lost to MCC’s Stanley Muthama, with Lamu East MP Athman Shariff of retaining his seat on a United Democratic Forum (UDF) ticket.
