A grandson of the late former president Daniel Arap Moi has agreed to pay support for his two children.
Collins Kibet Moi told a Nakuru court that he is ready to support the kids he sired with politician Gladys Jeruto Tagi. This comes after a DNA test confirmed that he is the biological father of the two children aged 11 and nine years.
Through his lawyer, Kibet requested Nakuru principal magistrate Benjamin Limo for time to make a proposal on how he will support the children.
“My client has agreed to support the children but he is not in a position to pay the amount demanded by the applicant. He, therefore, seeks permission from the court to make formal proposals on how he will support the children,” said the lawyer.
Jeruto, who unsuccessfully contested for the Koibatek Ward Representative seat in 2017, is demanding Sh1 million per month to cater for food, rent, education, entertainment, and maintenance.
The two reportedly got married in 2008 and had two children together before they separated four years later in 2012.
Jeruto, who filed the child upkeep suit in March, accused Kibet of neglecting the children and leaving her to take care of them alone.
The matter will be mentioned on September 8th.

Why should this be of interest to people working doubles and triples in nursing homes somewhere in the diaspora?
Only a Kenyan IDIOT of a Woman would ask for 1 Million Shillings a Month for Child(s) upkeep. She seems Insanely BIPOLAR.
Kibet pembeleza muke wako,Jeruto pole pole ukimutomba.Jeruto na watoto ni “mali” yako ata ukiluka luka.Na ukumbuke hiyo mali yote muko nayo ni ya wizi.
Keep your zip on from now forward. Lesson learn never trust these feminists as your grandfather's knew it.
Nope! The is an IDIOT excessive Gold DIGGER.
Let's wait and see how corrupt the JUDICIAL system is.
Mwakilishi, I am wondering why coverage of Moi's grandson affairs should be of interest to us in the diaspora.
